Description

As an Application Developer, you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. You will utilize mature (3rd or 4th Generation) programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.

You will participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules. You will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.

Requirements

Read and understand business requirements, write functional requirements, develop detailed technical designs, and build / unit / system test application code. Support the changes/applications post implementation by debugging, fixing, and participating in maintenance releases as prescribed by management. The candidate should be able to interact effectively with Development and project managers, developers, tech leads, technical operations, etc.

Required Skills:
* Ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements documentation.
* 5+ years experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
* 5+ years experience with Java.

* Experience in building enterprise applications satisfying business needs using rule based technologies.

* Extensive experience in using multiple open source and commercial rule based engines like ILog, JRules, and Drools.

* Good Knowledge of common algorithms used by rules engines.
* 3+ years experience with a J2EE/EJB Application Server (preferably WebLogic).
* 3+ years experience working in both Unix and Windows environments.
* Experience with development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment.


Desired Skills:
* 3+ years experience with JMS and Messaging Products (preferably WebSphere MQ).
* 3+ years experience working with Web Services (preferably using WebLogic or Apache Axis).
* Exposure to Open Source technologies (Ant, Anthill, Junit, XDoclet, Log4J, IBatis).
* Strong working knowledge of Oracle RDBMS.

Peoplesoft Payroll, Exception Processing Specialist
Description

Function: Human Resources

Responsibilities:

Develop an in-depth, wing-to-wing understanding of the PeopleSoft Payroll Processing application, GE payroll processing requirements, production schedule, Business Time and Attendance file submission deadlines and rules processing requirements.

Support each Payroll Processing Lead in the analysis and resolution of processing issues. Ensure strong integration with each of the Operations Teams (Benefits Admin, Pension Admin, EDM, etc.).

Act as 2nd level escalation point, and liaison with the Operations Team when 3rd level escalation is required.

Represent Payroll Operations in Integration, Release Planning, User Acceptance and other cross-team activities. Coordinate and support user acceptance testing activities across Payroll Operations. Ensure effectiveness of testing and team's adherence to BPIC guidelines.

Support and/or lead team's participation in critical payroll related initiatives such as Year End, PIPB Payout, and acquisitions.

Act as back-up to Payroll Team Leads when needed. Signature: ~HJ~

Requirements
Qualifications:

Experience with a minimum of 1 PeopleSoft HRMS implementation or 2 years PeopleSoft Payroll, Benefits or Pension operations experience.

Successful experience with process design, development, and testing.

Self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision. Does what it takes to meet deadlines.

Strong project management and general business skills including ability to identify and plan for cross-functional impact of work.

Demonstrated organizational skills, high standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent follow-up skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to coordinate work efforts of teammates as needed.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Travel to the Ft. Myers, FL, Payroll Operations, or vendor site locations as needed

Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States and be willing to submit to a drug test and background investigation

Must be willing to work out of an office located in Fort Myers, FL or Schenectady, NY

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act



Desired:

*Certified Payroll Professional

Advanced degree in Business, IT or HR related field

Six Sigma certification or equivalent quality experience

Assist in the accounting and oversight of international operations

Assist in the preparation and review of the budgeting and forecasting processes
