The role: Operations Systems Manager - Mountain View Accurum has one of the most advanced and innovative operations environments on the planet. The Operations Systems team manages a broad range of technical areas including hardware, networking, and system administration/engineering. We are looking for a manager to lead a team of systems administrators/engineers that develop and support our data center infrastructure tools. At the scale you will be dealing with, there will be many complex processes and technical challenges that you will have to help your team solve. Responsibilities:
· Take full responsibility for prioritizing the projects presented to the group and work to help design each new generation of technology and processes.
· Manage a highly diverse group of technical project managers in multiple locations.
· Act as a technical sanity check (when appropriate) with project managers and engineers; actively mentor junior talent and work with senior members to find exciting new areas for them to explore.
· Work with upper management and the project teams to create, manage and stay within budgets and time constraints while also developing and maintaining strong inter-group and function relationships across a large geographic area.
· Take responsibility for the implementation of projects for your team, which can involve programming, procurement, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, education, and emergency response.
Requirements
· BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a minimum of 8 years in a technical field.
· 6+ years experience with Linux system administration, application programming, PC hardware, networking, and datacenter infrastructure.
· 5+ years as a manager of system administrators/engineers and team managers.
· Strong foundation in OO Design, Python, Perl, PHP, Database/SQL.
· Strong experience of Unix/Linux and Network administration in a production environment and understanding of datacenters/server farm infrastructure.
